Enhancing the interoperability of catalogues of public services

The Catalogue of Services Action of the ISA² Programme is dealing with enhancing the interoperability of electronic portals and catalogues describing public services. The ability to exchange information of public services across applications at local, regional, or national level is important in the light of enabling the access to national and cross-border services. Making sure the same public service is only described once and can be reused is also fundamental for public administration efficiency. Moreover, harmonising the way those public services are described and providing a way to structure them in a user-oriented way. This helps improving the search, findability and integration of information that is coming from different sources or portals.

Therefore, the Catalogue of Services team is, together with EU Member States representatives and academia experts, focussing on the development and implementation of a data standard, the Core Public Service Vocabulary Application Profile (CPSV-AP). The aim is to stimulate the movement towards a common language and format for describing public services, in a user-oriented way, grouped into life and business events. Additionally, the action is developing and maintaining some prototype reusable tools for describing, validating and exchanging public services, and mapping different data models to the CPSV-AP.

The Action also actively supports EU countries in adopting those solutions by providing technical assistance, setting up pilots, raising awareness, etc.

Come to our stand to find out more about the action, its results, pilots and the next phase of the project. As part of our work, we are also piloting the search and access to information about public services aligned with the CPSV-AP into emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence. At our stand, you can join us for a demo of a chatbot pilot that helps find information about public services using as the underlying specification the common format CPSV-AP.
