How to download code lists

Code lists are provided for each position and dimension available from the Eurostat database.

These code lists contain the code and text labels associated with them.

They can be accessed from the SDMX registry.

Identifying the relevant code list

Each code list is provided in a file with the same code listed in data browser. The codes are visible in the Customise your dataset pop-up window:

For example, in the above image, the dimension ‘Geopolitical entity’ has the code ‘geo’.

Searching SDMX registry

The ‘geo’ code list can be accessed by navigating to the SDMX registry.

From the landing page, select ‘Codelists’:

From the next page, users can browser code lists, or search for code list by entering the code in the search field:

Having entered a search term, a results page is displayed.

Users can the use the icons on the right side of the list to access: a quick view of the code list, a detailed view, and download the code list in several file formats:
