Anneleen Vandeplas

Anneleen Vandeplas works as an economist for the European Commission, Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs.

She holds a PhD in Economics from KU Leuven. Her main research interest lies in the theoretical and empirical analysis of the interplay between institutions and inclusive growth. She has conducted extensive field work in India, and been involved in research projects commissioned by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nationals, the International Food Policy Research Institute, the European Commission and the World Bank. Her research has been published in journals such as the World Bank Economic Review, World Development, Food Policy, and the Journal of Behavioral and Experimental Economics.

At the European Commission, Anneleen has been contributing over the last decade to the analysis of economic challenges and policies in the area of macro-economic imbalances, labour markets, social policies, and education and training systems in EU Member States.
