Liza works as an Economic Analyst at the Directorate-General for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission. She holds a PhD in Economics from SciencesPo Paris, with a specialisation in International Trade. She previously worked as a postdoctoral research fellow at KU Leuven in Belgium.

The analytical work to which Liza contributes at DG ECFIN centres on the identification of structural policies at the EU and national level that help to foster growth, enhance its inclusiveness, and reduce the cost of adjustment to structural change. In the recent period, the team worked on quantifying the impact of exogenous shocks, such as the COVID-19 pandemic and the energy cost shock, on the European non-financial corporate sector and evaluating the effectiveness of public support measures.
