eDelivery Conformance Testing Service patch version 2023.06-p1 released
On 9 December 2024, the eDelivery team has released a patch version 2023.06-p1 of its Conformance Testing Service. This update introduces several new features, enhancements and bug fixes to streamline the conformance testing process for organisations implementing the eDelivery AS4 Profile in their products or services.
One of the key updates includes support for the X509PKIPathv1 Token Type, in line with the security mechanisms outlined in eDelivery AS4 Profile v1.15. Additionally, the patch brings back support for testing the ENTSOG AS4 Usage Profile Rev 3.5 which was present in the legacy Minder platform but not available following the migration to the Interoperability Test Bed (ITB) of last year. Note that support for testing conformance with the ENTSOG Usage Profile was not upgraded to support a more recent version of the profile, it is on par with what was available in the former platform.
The eDelivery conformance testing platform's underlying technology has been upgraded, with the ITB version moving to 1.24, bringing improvements such as a redesigned conformance dashboard and the ability to consult conformance snapshots. These updates aim to offer a more seamless user experience for AS4 solution providers participating in eDelivery's conformance testing. The improvements include the conformance testing platform's ability to ensure that incorrect user actions are flagged and rejected, as well as changes to how messages are processed and labelled in the user interface.
For a detailed breakdown of changes, including bug fixes and improvements, see the release page. It includes the eDelivery Conformance Testing Service User Guide.
Products and services that pass the testing with the new version will be marked with version 2023.06-p1 in our listing of eDelivery AS4 conformant solutions. Products and services that already pass the testing with the previous version can be be easily revalidated with the new one. Note that both 2023.06-p1 and its predecessor 2023.06 will have the same colour and sorting priority, meaning solutions tested with the patch version will not be listed above solutions tested with 2023.06 simply due to the 2023.06-p1 version of the testing service used. eDelivery is a Building Block provided by the European Commission, offering technical specifications, installable software and services for secure digital data exchange across a network of nodes. The eDelivery Conformance Testing Service allows testing software products and services against the eDelivery specifications. The technical specifications are translated into test assertions, which are the main unit for testing and reporting the conformance of an implementation. Based on the test assertions, test cases are derived and implemented on the test platform in the form of executable test scripts. An implementation can only pass the conformance testing process in case all mandatory test assertions have been successfully completed. The outcome of the test execution is documented in a test report which is published alongside the name of the product or service in the pages displaying the eDelivery conformant solutions (AS4 & SMP).
