European Commission Vice President Antonio Tajani in an official Visit to London

On March 13th, 14th and 15th, European Commission Vice President Antonio Tajani, responsible for Industry and Entrepreneurship, will be on an official visit to London for a series of meetings with institutions representatives and stakeholders related to industry, SMEs and space.

This evening, the Vice President will have a working dinner at Buckingham Palace at the kind invitation of Prince Andrew, Duke of York. Discussions will focus on European space policy.

Tomorrow morning Tajani will give a lecture at Regent's College on "New Sources of Growth in Europe" pdf - 110 KB [110 KB] where he will talk about "Emergency growth" and the European response based on more entrepreneurial culture and industrial innovation.

The Vice President will have Working lunch with Fashion and Luxury Goods Industry CEOs, such as Luis Vuitton, Walpole and Harrods, key players for exports, innovation and creativity.

Among the institutional meetings planned in the afternoon and in the evening, Tajani will meet the Deputy Prime Minister of the United Kingdom Nick Clegg, the Minister for Employment Relations and Postal Affairs Norman Lamb, and the Minister for Business and Enterprise Mark Prisk. Discussions will focus on the strategy to boost competitiveness.

Before leaving on March 15, Tajani will have a meeting with representatives of the Confederation of British Industry. Among the topics addressed, access to markets and to raw materials, community programs to facilitate access to credit and industrial innovation, and the forthcoming missions for growth (to USA , Mexico, Colombia, China, Vietnam and north Africa) that Vice President Tajani will carry our with the representatives of European industry in 2012.
