GEOSTAT 2011 grid dataset - Access, conditions & restrictions of use

Users may freely copy, publish and distribute the GEOSTAT 2011 grid dataset within their own organisation.

Users may not:

  • disseminate the dataset to clients outside their own organisation
  • sell the dataset – in whole or in part – to parties outside their organisation
  • use it for any other commercial purpose.

Restrictions:
The data produced by Statistics AL, AT, BE, BG, CH, CZ, DE, DK, EE, EL, ES, FI, FR, HR, HU, IE, IT, Kosovo, LI, LT, LV, MT, NL, NO, PT, PL, RO, SE, SI, SK and UK remain the property of the respective National Statistical Office. Data records produced by these organisations are flagged with their ISO 3166-1 alpha-2 code in the attribute DATA_SRC. These data shall not be used for commercial purposes (even within the user's organisation) without prior approval by the owner.

Denmark (DK):
The use of the data is restricted to the user's own organisation. Data must not be redistributed without prior approval by Statistics Denmark. All rights to the data shall be the property of Statistics Denmark. Users that wish to use the dataset for commercial purposes or to disseminate the dataset without charges should contact Statistics Denmark in order to make an agreement. Please contact Erik Sommer, Chief Adviser, Customer Centre.

Sweden (SE):
All rights to the product shall be the property of Statistics Sweden under the provisions of the Copyright Act (1960:729). The Copyright Act contains provisions for penalties and damages related to copyright violation. Users who wish to use the dataset for commercial purposes or to disseminate the dataset without charges should contact Statistics Sweden in order to make an agreement. Finland (FI):
The terms of use of the data can be found at Statistics Finland.

Switzerland (CH):
The terms of use are explained in German in the document: CH_Nutzungsbedingungen-Copyright_BFS_GEOSTAT.pdf and in French in CH_Conditions_d'exploitation-Copyright_OFS_GEOSTAT.pdf included in the download zip package.

 

GEOSTAT 2006 grid dataset - Access, conditions & restrictions of use

Users may freely copy, publish and distribute the GEOSTAT 2006 grid dataset within their own organisation (company, governmental authority, municipality).

Users may not:

  • disseminate the dataset to clients outside their own organisation
  • sell the dataset – in whole or in part – to parties outside their organisation
  • use it for any other commercial purpose.

Restrictions:
The following additional restrictions on the use of national data may apply, depending on the source of the data (see the DATA_SRC field in the file GEOSTAT_Grid_POP_2006_1K.csv). Data produced by Statistics AT, FI, FR, SE, DK, PL, EE, SI, NL, NO, UK, PT remain the property of the respective national statistical office. Data records produced by the above organisations are flagged accordingly with their ISO country code in the attribute DATA_SRC.

Spain:
The dataset has been produced by the University of Valencia and the Polytechnic University of Valencia (DATA_SRC = UV). The statistical data remain the property of the Spanish national statistical office.

Sweden:
All rights to their data remain the property of Statistics Sweden under the Copyright Act (1960:729), which contains provisions for penalties and damages related to copyright violation.Users wishing to use the dataset for commercial purposes or disseminate it free of charge must first contact Statistics Sweden (regionalt@scb.se)

Denmark:
All rights to their data remain the property of Statistics Denmark (www.dst.dk). Users wishing to use the dataset for commercial purposes or disseminate it free of charge must first contact Statistics Denmark (Erik Sommer, Chief Adviser, Customer Centre, eso@dst.dk). Agreements with Statistics Denmark are governed by Danish law.
Any dispute that cannot be resolved by negotiation will be settled by the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen as the court of first instance.
