Posting of workers and coordination of family benefits in the context of free movement in the EU

The EC-funded MoveS network (Free Movement and Social Security Coordination)organised a seminar in Riga (Latvia) on 23 January 2020.

Latvia is the process of transposing  the  provisions of the Revised Posting Directive into  national law.

Coordination of family benefits, its scope in the meaning of the Basic Regulation, is a problem comparatively often dealt with in Latvian courts. Awareness rising on the EU law, recent case-law and developments with the amendments to these provisions is therefore of great value.

The share of PDs A1 based on the article 13 is growing. The rules for issuing PD A1 for posting, as well as some aspects of PD A1 based on article 12 (2) and article 13 of Regulation (EC) No 883/2004 were touched upon.
