MoveS seminar (Netherlands): Free movement of workers in the EU regions, and the EU region Meuse-Rhine in particular: Obstacles and best practices

The EC-funded MoveS network (Free Movement and Social Security Coordination) organised a seminar in Maastricht (Netherlands) on 23 September 2019.

The seminar was organised by MoveS in collaboration with its Dutch national expert, Anne Pieter van der Mei. MoveS is an EC-funded network of independent experts from 32 European countries coordinated by Eftheia and Deloitte.

There is much cross-border mobility within the EU region Meuse-Rhine, and it is becoming increasingly clear that numerous legal and practical obstacles to such mobility exist, including those concerning taxation, social security, recognition of diploma’s and qualifications. The aim of the seminar was to identify these obstacles and to consider best practices, rules or solutions on how to eliminate these obstacles.  Experiences of/in the EU region Meuse/Rhine may serve as a source of inspiration for other regions.
