The Peer Review looked at how Belgium-fr can better work with and coordinate their stakeholders and processes to better answer to the training and skills needs of the labour market

Belgium-fr hosted the thirteenth EQAVET Peer Review on meeting labour market needs in terms of trainings and skills

The thirteenth EQAVET Peer Review was hosted by the Erasmus National Agency (AEF-Europe) in Brussels, Belgium.

Seven EQAVET Network members from Belgium-fl, Italy, Latvia, Romania and Slovenia acted as peers.

The Peer Review focused on the following indicative descriptors of the EQAVET Framework:

  • Mechanisms and procedures have been established to identify the training needs of the labour market and society;
  • VET programmes are designed to allow flexible learning pathways and to respond quickly to changing labour market needs.

Belgium-fr developed various mechanisms in the last 20 years to analyse and anticipate the training and skills needs of the labour market. The host country was keen to improve processes that can at times be lengthy comparing with the rapid evolution of the world of work.

The Peer Review focused on: 

  • Data collection across the Belgian-fr VET landscape;
  • Processes for creating training profiles and training offers;
  • The participation of labour market stakeholders in these processes.
