a) Total public expenditure which includes government spending HF.1.1 (central government HF.1.1.1, state/provincial government HF.1.1.2 and local/municipal government HF.1.1.3) plus social security funds HF.1.2 according to SHA.
b) Total private expenditure which includes private health insurance (private social insurance HF.2.1 + private insurance other than social insurance HF.2.2) plus private households out of pocket expenditure HF.2.3 plus non-profit institutions HF.2.4 and private corporations other than health insurance such as private companies funding occupational health care HF.2.5 according to SHA.
