Alexander Helander is a 31-year-old Swedish middle school teacher, father and multi para-athlete. Alexander had his feet amputated in late 2019/early 2020 after years of pain due to an aggressive case of plantar facial fibromatosis. He has since focused on finding new ways to improve his mobility through sports, rehabilitation exercises and activities with his family. Favourite family activities include skiing and dancing. He is a part-time prosthetics user and wheelchair user, with a strong interest in adaptive sports and activities. Since his amputations, he has become an active wheelchair floorball player in the Swedish league and joined the Swedish national wakeboarding team in the seated category.
