Over 50 stakeholders took part in our webinar to discuss the challenges apprentices face in the EU and what measures can be implemented to safeguard them.

The webinar included the following expert speakers:

  • Dr Jeff Bridgford – Visiting Senior Research Fellow in the School of Education, Communication and Society at King’s College London;
  • Eamon Devoy – the Irish Congress of Trade Unions representative to the Apprenticeship Advisory Committee of the National Training Authority and the National Apprenticeship Council;
  • Ann Vanden Bulcke from the Vocational Education and Training and Adult Learning Policy Unit in the Directorate-General for Employment, Social Affairs and Inclusion (European Commission).
  • Henri Mokambi from the European Apprentices Network.

The webinar explored best practice examples from Austria, Germany, Hungary, Ireland and Luxembourg. Additionally, the expert speakers shared EU-wide statistics on different aspects of apprentices’ working conditions, such as written agreements, pay and compensation, social protection, and health and safety.
