01/06/2018 - 02/06/2018 Strasbourg European Youth Event The European Youth Event (EYE2018), organised by the European Parliament in Strasbourg, is an opportunity for young people aged 16-30 to take part in a programme of workshops and events with policymakers and propose ideas for the future of Europe. The Commission's Directorate-general for Employment, social affairs and inclusion will organise 4 activities during the event. On Friday 1 June: Workshop – Experience intergenerational learning and bring it home, from 11 am to 2 pm Discussion – Work, work, work, work …: What's the new way to make a living?, from 1:30 pm to 3 pm Workshop – 50 years of free movement of workers: Where do we want to go?, from 3:30 pm to 5 pm On Saturday 2 June: Discussion – E-portfolios: Why you can forget about writing a traditional CV, from 1:30 pm to 3 pm Commissioner Marianne Thyssen will open the #MySocialRights photo exhibition, following the photo competition How do you perceive social rights in Europe? and hand out the awards to the winners. The exhibition will display 15 photos taken by young people aged 18-30 and selected by the jury of the competition. The award ceremony will take place at the Commission tent in front of European Parliament building. Around 8000 young people from all 28 EU countries and beyond are expected to participate. The most interesting results of the EYE2018 will be included in the EYE Report, which will be handed out to all the MEPs at a later stage.
