To optimise the functioning of the labour market, the role of PES in delivering services to employers is just as important as the services offered to jobseekers. This applies to large companies and small- and medium-sized enterprises alike. PES provide a wide range of services to support employers, including: defining employers’ vacancy needs and helping them develop well specified job advertisements; finding jobseekers with the skills and capacities to fill vacancies; helping organise selection procedures and delivering special advisory services; providing financial incentives for hiring specific groups. To win and maintain the trust of employers it is key for PES to train their staff to be sensitive to employers’ needs and regularly seek feedback on employer satisfaction with PES services.
