The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:TCDD is a 165-years public institution operating, widening and renovating railway lines in Turkey. TCDD employs 14,000 people. It has 18 professional departments, 7 consultant and controlling units, 8 local directorates and 5 factories. The TCDD Training Department was established in 1981 for service coordination and vocational education. Since then, the Department has been defining education needs in the railway sector and planning activities to meet these needs via its education centers all over Turkey. TCDD also provides training facilities for students in vocational schools and vocational high schools which fall under the Ministry of National Education, and also serves as an expert for vocational schools and vocational high schools. Most graduates of these schools are employed by TCDD. Currently, TCDD's Education and Teaching Department counts 168 vocational instructors, and 400 temporary staff, providing for circa 14,000 learners.
