Description of the Organisation:
School Center Škofja Loka has been providing vocational and technical education and training in the fields of mechanical and wood engineering since 1889. It educates and trains both students and adults (1300 students). The school has four organisational units: Secondary school of mechanical engineering, Secondary school of wood engineering, Vocational college, and Business-to-Business Training Center (MIC). As the largest local VET provider, SC Škofja Loka offers a wide variety of programmes which prepare students for future work in companies or tertiary education. SC Škofja Loka is still in the initial implementation phase of apprenticeships. As one of the Slovenian VET schools selected by the Ministry of Education, SC Škofja Loka enrolled first apprentices in the year 2017/2018. However, SC Škofja Loka has a very good cooperation with partner schools and companies in Europe to exchange ideas and best practices, and exchange apprentices and teachers in the field of apprenticeships.
