The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:HAK-IS was founded on the 18th of October 1976 in Ankara. It is the 2nd biggest trade union confederation (it is an umbrella labour organisation for different worker sectoral unions) in Türkiye with 787,747 members in 21 sectors such as public services, metal, food, tourism, forestry, finance, textile, transportation, energy, security etc. One of its sectoral unions is active in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) territory. Around 27% of HAK-IS members are women. HAK-IS is a member of the ETUC, ITUC and OECD’s TUAC body as well as a member of EAfA and Labour-20 (L-20), sub-component of the Group-20 (G-20). It operates nationally and globally to support all workers, particularly youngers and female labourers by building bridges. Since 1996, HAK-IS and its sectoral unions have been maintaining internship opportunities for high school students, undergraduates, graduates (alumni) and post-graduates within a work-based learning approach.
