The European Alliance for Apprenticeships is a multi-stakeholder initiative steered by the European Commission. The originator of the pledge is solely responsible for implementing the actions outlined in the pledge.
Description of the Organisation:The Latvian Agricultural Organization Cooperation Council (LAOCC) is an association composed of 67 non-governmental organizations of agricultural production and processing across the country, covering all the sectors and in total representing more than 15000 producers. The Association defends the producers' interests and cooperates with state administration institutions and foreign partners. The Association collaborates with local partners - such as district farmers' unions, representing farmers and communities from small towns. Every year, the Association signs an agreement with the Ministry of Agriculture on the participation of farmers in decision-making. The organization was officially registered in 2004. Established in 2000, the Organization works to activate the civil society by involving it in the decision-making process. Our aims are to: 1) involve agricultural multi-sectional and professional non-governmental organisations in agricultural and rural development policy formation and implementation; 2) promote competitive agricultural production, processing and export; 3) stimulate rural development by promoting alternative pathways of occupation in rural areas.
