Description of the Organisation:
Swisscontact is an independent Swiss foundation promotingeconomic, social, and environmental development. Swisscontact's objective is to open up pathways out of poverty in the countries it operates through broad-based economic development. In its various projects Swisscontact facilitates access to skills development programmes, apprenticeships, fosters competitive entrepreneurship, creates access to local financial services, and promotes sustainable use of resources. Swisscontact is currently active in 33 countries worldwide, including Eastern Europe with five projects concentrated in Western Balkan related to Skills Development, SME Promotion and labour market access. These projects are implemented by Swisscontact Offices established in Albania, Kosovo, Macedonia and Serbia. The projects on Skills Development (3 projects currently in the Western Balkans) put focus on creating productive employment and earning an income through market-oriented vocational skills development and labour market access.
