French Food Banks recover surplus food from the Paris 2024 Olympic Games

Fédération Française des Banques Alimentaires, FEBA Member in France recovered surplus and unsold food from the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. Their activities can be followed here. Overall, the “Gilets Oranges”, the volunteers of the French Food Banks wear orange vests, reduced food waste contributing to the sustainability of this year’s games, as well as helping people in need with the surplus food available, thus fighting poverty, food insecurity and social exclusion. 

After the first 2 weeks of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games, the Food Banks have already collected more than 30 tonnes of food products in the 9 regions that are hosting the competitions. The French Food Banks continue their activities and efforts during the Paralympic Games, recovering surplus and redistributing it to people in need.
