Adoption of the 2018 Justice Work Programme

On 19 December 2017 the European Commission adopted the 2018 Justice Work Programme, thus giving a green light for launching several funding initiatives, for the total budget of EUR 45.95 million.

The Justice Programme contributes to the further development of a European area of justice based on mutual recognition and trust, with a total budget of EUR 377.6 million over the period 2014-2020.

In 2018 the Commission will continue to support activities and actions developed by public authorities, universities, NGOs, and other organisations in the field of:

  • Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters
  • Judicial training
  • Access to justice, including rights of victims of crime, and rights of the defence
  • Drugs initiatives.

The 2018 calls for proposals for action grants are expected to be published by the end of January 2018 on the Participant Portal.

In addition, part of the funding will be used to finance operating grants for framework partners, studies, the monitoring of legislation, information campaigns, exchange of good practices, EU Presidency conferences etc.).
