Adoption of the 2017 Justice Work Programme

On 6 March 2017 the European Commission adopted the 2017 Justice Work Programme, thus giving green light for launching several funding initiatives, for the total budget of EUR 52.6 million.
The Justice Programme contributes to the further development of a European area of justice based on mutual recognition and trust with a total budget of EUR 377.6 million over the period 2014-2020.
In 2017 the Commission will continue to support activities and actions developed by public authorities, universities, NGOs, and other organisations in the field of:
- Judicial cooperation in civil and criminal matters
- Judicial training
- Access to justice, including rights of victims of crime, and rights of the defence
- Drugs initiatives.
2017 calls for proposals for operating and action grants are expected to be published by the end of March 2017 on the Participant Portal.
In addition, part of the funding will be used to finance studies, the monitoring of legislation, information campaigns, exchange of good practices, EU Presidency conferences etc.).
