7 June 2023 - The Coordinating Committee of Jewish Organizations in Belgium organised a discussion on 'Combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life' in Belgium where the main speaker was European Commission Coordinator Katharina von Schnurbein.
23 May 2023 - Katharina von Schnurbein, Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, spoke about ‘Educating against antisemitism, intolerance and discrimination’ and the new action funded by the European Commission, implemented by UNESCO and ODIHR, on training teachers on antisemitism, at an event organised by the European Jewish Congress, together with B’nai B’rith International, at the European Parliament.
15 May 2023 - European Commission Vice-President for Promoting Our European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas, addressed in a video message the European Jewish Association Annual Conference 'Shaping the future of European Jewry together' taking place in Porto.

26 April 2023 – At the start of Croatia taking over the Presidency of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), Katharina von Schnurbein, Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, paid a country visit, met with the Jewish community, Ministers, the Special Envoy, and civil society organisations.
9 May 2023 - Katharina von Schnurbein, European Commission Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, was awarded the 'Shofar Voice of Conscience Award' to "honor her outstanding dedication to fighting antisemitism and preserving Jewish life across Europe".
29 March 2023 - European Commission Vice-President for Promoting Our European Way of Life, Margaritis Schinas, in light of the rise of antisemitism in all spheres of our societies, spoke about the power of sports to combat antisemitism at the Forum 'Combating Antisemitism in and through Sports' organised by the World Jewish Congress in Geneva, on the sidelines of a UN Human Rights Council Session coinciding with the 75th anniversary of the Universal Declaration on Human Rights.
3 April 2023 - Today marks the launch of a new two-years project to address antisemitism in Europe through education. The project will be financed by the Erasmus+ programme and implemented by UNESCO in partnership with the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR).
28 March 2023 - Speaking at the 'Actions Matter: The International Antisemitism Summit' organised by ELNET, the EU Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, Katharina von Schnurbein, shared best practices on coalition building and intersectionality and how to address all forms of contemporary antisemitism online.
21-22 March 2023 - EU Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, Katharina von Schnurbein, participated in an audience with HRH Felipe VI of Spain as part of a joint delegation of the World Jewish Congress and Special Envoys Combating Antisemitism. They discussed the richness of Sephardic life and heritage as well as ways to address the rise of antisemitism globally.
21 March 2023 - The European Commission, represented by Dr. Pascale Falek, Policy officer in the office of the EU Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, took part in the 'Anti-Racism and Diversity Week 2023' hosted by Members of the European Parliament.
31 March 2023 - The European Commission published an independent expert report 'The field of research on contemporary antisemitism and Jewish life - Working towards a European research hub', as part of the actions put forward by the EU Strategy on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life (2021-2030). The report was prepared by a research team working under the auspices of the Institute for Jewish Policy Research (JPR).
European Commission Vice-Presidents Schinas and Jourová met with Jewish students as part of the EU Activism Seminar organised by the European Union of Jewish Students to discuss EU policies that have a direct impact on Jewish life in Europe and beyond.
Following the announcement by U.S. President Biden on 12 December 2022 to adopt a U.S. national action plan to counter antisemitism, six Special Envoys on combating antisemitism, including EU Coordinator on combating antisemitism and fostering Jewish life, Katharina von Schnurbein, met at the White House with U.S. officials and Congress representatives to share best practices and insights.
As announced in the 2023 Commission Work Programme, the Commission intends to put forward a ‘Defence of democracy’ package to strengthen the resilience of the EU democratic space against covert foreign interference.
On 17 February we opened the new European Remembrance call for proposals with EUR 10,2 million, the biggest Remembrance call today with 4 priorities. On 7 March, from 9.30 – 12.30, the European Commission will organise an information session including policy priorities, application and evaluation process.
