The London School of Economics is looking for a research assistant

The European Institute at the LSE is looking to hire a research assistant (experienced in the use of EUROMOD and statistical software) over the summer for a project on the political economy of democratic representation at the London School of Economics and University of Oxford. The London School of Economics has provided JRC with the following information regarding this position:

We are looking to hire a research assistant over the summer for a project on the political economy of democratic representation at the London School of Economics and University of Oxford. The research assistant should be experienced in the use of EUROMOD and statistical software. Specifically, the research assistant will use EUROMOD to model the annual distributive effects of tax-benefit reforms across EU member states and create a database based on EUROMOD outputs.

Contract details:

  • Start date: 1st June or as soon as possible thereafter.
  • Total amount: £2,500.
  • Hourly salary: ca. £20.
  • We expect the work to require 10-20h/week but are flexible as to how the RA divides up their time.
  • The research assistant’s contract will be with the European Institute at the LSE, and the RA will have access to all digital resources as well as the facilities at the LSE, but it is possible to work fully remote depending on the preferences of the research assistant.

Ideally, we are looking to hire a PhD student from the fields of political science, sociology, social policy, or economics, but are open to any applicant with the required skills and an interest in political economy applications of EUROMOD.
