New website on Innovation for place-based transformations

The Joint Research Centre (JRC) has just launched a new website to accompany territories towards innovation for place-based transformations. (Link: https://place-based-innovation.ec.europa.eu/index_en) The website is the go to place to find resources to empower local, regional, and national stakeholders across Europe to achieve their desired transformations, aligning EU priorities with local strengths and driving societal well-being and climate-resilient development. For information on Smart Specialisation for EU regions, the European Commission has set up the Smart Specialisation Community of Practice (Link: https://ec.europa.eu/regional_policy/policy/communities-and-networks/s3-community-of-practice_en), while the S3 Platform website (Link: https://s3platform.jrc.ec.europa.eu/) now focuses on smart specialisation in non-EU countries, offering a global perspective.

What do Espoo in Finland, Tuscany in Italy and Medimurje in Croatia have in common?

They all are excellent examples of using local strengths to innovate and grow, are also part of the ACTIONbook and are drawing together the map of transformative innovation across Europe. Join us next 9 April, on a TV live stream, and travel through all these places to learn how they are implementing innovation policies with truly transformative power. Don’t miss out. Is your territory in the map? What is your potential to innovate?
