It was intended specifically to officials from Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, the Maldives, Nepal, and Sri Lanka who play a pivotal role in assembling their respective national accounts statistics. The Asian Development Bank provided valuable support for the course.
This presentation forms a key component of the GIANT initiative—a global inter-agency network comprising seven international institutions spearheaded by the JRC and the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The GIANT initiative underpins the IMF and the Asian Development Bank's technical assistance efforts, aiming to strengthen the statistical capacity of low-income countries in compiling their national Supply, Use, and Input-Output Tables.
