Between 9 and 10 November 2021, 656 Editions and Systematic Paris-Region are organising a hybrid convention on open source that will take place online and physically in Paris (France). For two days, 70 exhibitions and 150 sessions will be dedicated to open technological innovations and the economic dynamism of open source solutions. Over 9000 people are expected to attend to this event.

Between 4 and 5 November 2021, an online community event on the subject of Matomo Analytics is being organised. The Matomo Camp will consist of multiple sessions explaining how the free and open source software solution can be used to analyse the behaviour of users within an information system belonging to any type of organisation.
On 29 October, the Digital Sustainability Research Centre at the University of Bern is organising a hybrid conference focused on digital sustainability and open source software known as DINAcon. Held in Basel (Switzerland) and virtually, this event consists of keynotes, the DINAcon Awards, and a series of one-hour workshops.
The European Commission committed to present a reinforced interoperability policy by Q2 2022. The new policy will be based on the learnings from the ongoing evaluations of the European Interoperability Framework and the ISA2 programme and on recommendations of the Expert Group on interoperability of European public services. A wide range of emerging or persisting needs of different stakeholders for future actions on public sector interoperability have already been collected and it is time to start discussing on the legal possibilities of translating the needs into concrete action.
On 21 October 2021, a webinar on ‘The reuse of software as an asset in the fight against COVID-19’ will be organised by Re-Use, an initiative of the Belgian social security institutions. This event will focus particularly on the impact of software reuse, including the reuse of open source software during the pandemic and its potential to meet rapidly changing needs.
Between 14 and 15 October, the Nouvelle-Aquitaine Open Source and the Conseil National du Logiciel Libre are co-hosting Bboost, an annual convention on free and open source software that takes place in La-Rochelle (France). This event will bring together international speakers from more than 10 countries and 50 exhibitors for more than 30 sessions on the open source ecosystem.
Between 11 and 19 October 2021, CEN-CENELEC are organising a series of six webinars on the incorporation of open source approaches, especially the use of open source licences, into standardisation activities in order to keep standards relevant in the digital era. The ‘Open Source Solutions’ project will be presented during several sessions aimed at the general public and specific audiences.
The conference aims at exploring how the synergies among the communities of technology, policy, and social cohesion can be a positive factor for sustainable development.
Between 4 and 5 October 2021, the Linux Foundation will host the Open Source Strategy Forum in London (UK). This community-event is dedicated to collaboration and innovation through open source software and standards, gathering experts across financial services, technology, and open source to engage the Linux community in stimulating conversations about how to best (and safely) leverage open source software to solve industry challenges.
Between 27 and 30 September 2021, the Linux Foundation is organising the Open Source Summit in a hybrid format, taking place in Seattle (USA) and virtually. This event will be focused on the latest trends in open source and open collaboration and on how open source is shaping innovation. Attendees will have a variety of ways to collaborate and share ideas with their peers, as well as to learn how to help create richer open source communities, how to grow their technical skills and much more.
On 24 September 2021, OpenForum Europe will host the EU Open Source Policy Community Meeting 2021. This webinar is designed to serve as an open space for the European open source community to discuss and share recent developments and insights on open source, and more specifically on EU open source-related policies.
On 23 September 2021 between 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. (EST), the UN Office of Information and Communication Technologies and the UN Office of the Technology Envoy and the Digital Public Goods Alliance are hosting a virtual webinar on open source software and open culture, as well as opportunities and challenges regarding how open source is supporting the United Nations’ work.

The 17th International Symposium on Open Collaboration (OpenSym 2021) is a three-day hybrid conference that will take place online and physically in Madrid between 15 and 17 September 2021. The conference will be centered around various aspects of open collaboration, research and practice, including open source, open data, open science, open education, the use of wikis and related social media, as well as IT-driven open innovation research.
Between 21 and 22 August 2021, the 2021 Edition of the FrOSCon, Free and Open Source Software Conference, will be held online. Organised by the University of Bonn-Rhein-Sieg in Germany, the conference will offer a rich programme of lectures on current developments from the entire field of free and open source software, including sessions on administration, security, legal matters and much more.
