This Agreement is part of the EU initiative on Forest Law Enforcement, Governance and Trade (FLEGT). The new five-year action plan for the implementation of VPA 2018-2022, as well as an Annual Work Plan for 2018, were adopted by Congo and the EU at the meeting of the Joint Implementation Committee (JIC) of the VPA, which met in Brazzaville on 5 December 2017.
