Making data available is crucial for Europe´s digital future. However, publishing data is not enough; it is equally important to describe it precisely so that people and machines can discover it and reuse easily.
In this webinar series, scheduled in 3 sessions for basic and advanced users, Makx Dekkers, an information technology expert and a contributor to DCAT v.2, explains everything you need to know about:
- Data Catalog Vocabulary (DCAT) that enables data publishers to describe datasets and data services in a catalogue using a standard model and vocabulary that facilitates interoperability between data catalogues published on the Web, and
- DCAT Application profile for data portals in Europe (DCAT-AP), a specification for describing public sector datasets in Europe, curated by the European Commission. It is used by the EU Open Data Portal and the European Data Portal.
