European Business & Nature Summit 2025: Key messages from the Summit
date: 12/02/2026
Over one and a half days in Helsinki, more than 400 participants and more than 80 speakers, panellists and workshop moderators came together with one shared goal: to build and support businesses that work with nature. The European Business & Nature Summit 2025 (EBNS) was the result of a strong and dynamic collaboration, bringing together a diverse network of long-standing partners and new contributors.
The Summit featured inspiring voices, including European Commissioner Jessika Roswall, Director-General for Environment Eric Mamer, and Finland’s Minister of Climate and the Environment Sari Multala. The Summit also brought together inspirational leaders from business and finance representing key European companies such as EDF, Metsä Group, Paulig, Siemens, Saint-Gobain, Mirova, Nature’s Pride, SCOR, and Storebrand Asset Management, among others.
Through rich dialogue and shared practices, panellists and participants explored enablers and solutions for scaling up action and defining the next steps to drive forward nature conservation, restoration and regeneration. Their insights resonated widely across both days, sparking conversations and new connections, and inspiring further collaboration beyond EBNS.
A wide range of discussions took place throughout the Summit, including inspirational plenary sessions, hands-on technical sessions, interactive workshops, and extensive networking conversations. Outcomes from these discussions and presentations can be summarised in five key messages:
- Nature as a strategic economic asset, fundamental for safeguarding long-term competitiveness and strategic stability.
- Finance can act as a catalyst for accelerating the transition to a nature-positive economy.
- The circular and bioeconomy are an opportunity for reducing pressure on ecosystems, strengthening Europe’s security and autonomy, and unlocking untapped market potential.
- Collective ambition and action are essential to driving systemic and transformative change.
- Empowering societies with informed choices is key to sustaining leadership and long-term vision to achieve shared sustainability and biodiversity objectives.
