Agriculture and fisheries – and thus our food supply chains – depend highly on biodiversity. At the same time, they are of the main causes of biodiversity loss, putting the long-term viability of businesses at risk. The conference, initiated and hosted by the association Food for Biodiversity and co-hosted by the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) and the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform, aims to address the critical interdependence between agriculture, food supply chains, and biodiversity. Coupled with the Platform’s ongoing work on the food retail sector, this event comes at a critical time as the challenges we are facing require a collaborative approach and the conference will facilitate the exchange of experiences and networking in Europe.
