Agriculture and fisheries – and thus our food supply chains – depend highly on biodiversity. At the same time, they are of the main causes of biodiversity loss, putting the long-term viability of businesses at risk. This conference will take place in Berlin, Germany, and is aimed at key stakeholders working in and with the European food sector including food and beverage companies, industry organizations, policymakers and authorities, NGOs and researchers.

The conference, initiated and hosted by the association Food for Biodiversity and co-hosted by the Federation of German Food and Drink Industries (BVE) and the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform, aims to address the critical interdependence between agriculture, food supply chains, and biodiversity. Coupled with the Platform’s ongoing work on the food retail sector, this event comes at a critical time as the challenges we are facing require a collaborative approach and the conference will facilitate the exchange of experiences and networking in Europe.

Key topics that will be discussed in the conference include:

Biodiversity Protection: Ensuring resource security, legal compliance, and addressing consumer sensitivity.

Overcoming Barriers: Implementing food standards, new technologies, product design, and successful pilot projects; providing farmer incentives and raising consumer awareness.

Using the right tool: Biodiversity management on farm-level, selection of sourcing regions, risk evaluation.

Monitoring and Reporting: Farm-level biodiversity monitoring, supply chain data, and CSRD expectations.

Don’t miss this opportunity to contribute to a sustainable future for generations to come and advance your business at the same time. Register for the event here
