G7 Workshop on Lead

The aim of the workshop will be to take stock of activities undertaken by G7 representatives and others to address lead pollution and develop future work and cooperation to reduce sources of lead in the environment and minimize exposure to it in developing countries and vulnerable communities.

The workshop will be co-hosted by the EU and the United States under the German Presidency, as set out by Ministers in the G7 Climate Energy and Environment Ministers’ Communiqué.

Through this initiative, the G7 will identify areas for further action and reinforce cooperation with existing international initiatives and instruments and with multilateral organisations, to tackle lead contamination as a global burden on human health and the environment.
