In April 2020, the UK government has published the interim report of the Dasgupta Review – Independent Review on the Economics of Biodiversity. The Dasgupta Review is an independent review led by Professor Sir Partha Dasgupta (Frank Ramsey Professor Emeritus, University of Cambridge) and commissioned by HM Treasury. Its aim is to explore the economic benefits of biodiversity and the economic costs of biodiversity loss.
The interim report lays out the approach the Review is taking, including the scope of the review and the theoretical framework. It contains a review of the main economic and scientific concepts underpinning the work. The final report will be published later this year.
