Natural Capital Coalition calls for business and financial institutions to pilot the Biodiversity Supplement

date:  28/11/2019

The Biodiversity Project, delivered by Cambridge Conservation Initiative (CCI) on behalf of the Natural Capital Coalition and with the support from DG Environment, has engaged more than 450 stakeholders to develop guidance for business to understand why and how biodiversity should be integrated into natural capital assessments. Underway is the drafting of short, accessible guidance notes spanning the business case, through to how biodiversity should be incorporated into natural capital assessments.

The Natural Capital Coalition is looking for businesses and financial institutions to pilot the guidance between January and May 2020. Pilot organisations will have the opportunity to access and use the most up to date material to incorporate biodiversity into natural capital assessments, with support from the delivery team throughout the process. It would also provide a tangible way for businesses and financial institutions to shape the direction of their project and position themselves as leaders in this area ahead of key biodiversity events in 2020.

The Concept Note with more information is available here.
