The Seventh Update of the Overview of initiatives for financial institutions has now been launched.

date: 28/05/2025
The EU B&B Platform, in collaboration with the Finance for Biodiversity (FfB) Foundation, United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI), has now launched the Seventh Update of the Overview of Initiatives for financial institutions. With the first edition launched in April 2021, the overview is a resource which is periodically updated to support financial institutions to identify collaborative initiatives that work on the intersection of biodiversity and finance.
This updated edition covers a total of 19 finance and biodiversity initiatives. It provides an overview of communities, networks, and initiatives detailing the target audiences for each initiative and the specific topics they address. These include ESG and engagement, measurements and data, target setting, reporting and disclosure, positive impact, and public policy advocacy, with the aim to offer an understanding of the evolving landscape.
This updated edition includes new activities by Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) on reporting & disclosure, positive impact and public policy advocacy, and by the Coalition for Private Investment in Conservation (CPIC) on target setting. Furthermore, it also captures recent publications from most of the previously included initiatives.
As the biodiversity movement continues to develop rapidly, this update will be refreshed annually. Feedback and inputs for the next update of this document can be sent to info@nextgreen.nl (Finance Workstream Lead under the EU Business & Biodiversity Platform).
