Revised Industrial Emissions Directive (IED)

On 4 August 2024, the revised Industrial Emissions Directive (IED) officially came into effect. This Directive, a key component of the EU's environmental policy, aims to reduce pollution from large industrial installations across Europe.

date:  09/09/2024

The updated IED introduces stricter emission limits and enhances the permit system to ensure that industrial activities are carried out in an environmentally sustainable manner. The revised Directive introduces mandatory requirements to implement an EMS such as EMAS. These changes are expected to significantly reduce the environmental impact of industrial activities, contributing to the EU’s broader goals of improving air quality, protecting human health, and promoting a circular economy.
