On 17 April, the European Committee of the Regions (CoR) adopted an opinion regarding the management of large carnivores in the EU highlighting the need for deeper involvement of regions and cities in developing coexistence methods. The wide-ranging report made recommendations on assessing and reviewing conservation status and also on prevention measures and educations activites to support coexistence. The Committee expressed its support for the EU and regional platforms and called for adequate EU support for the range of coexistence measures.
