Align Webinar: Guidance on Biodiversity Measurement at Operational Sites and Across Supply Chains.

Companies and investors are heeding the call to address biodiversity decline head-on. The need for effective biodiversity measurement is growing, and in late 2022, the Align project released recommendations to provide a comprehensive framework. This Thursday, October 19th, from 11:00 to 11:50 BST (12:00 to 12:50 CET), the Align project will launch new guidance notes, enhancing the implementation of their recommendations. These notes shed light on biodiversity measurement and valuation for both operational site-level assessments and supply chains. They draw practical insights from 'dummy cases,' showcasing measurement approaches.

Awareness of the risks associated with the global decline of biodiversity is on the upswing among companies and investors and is driving action to halt and reverse biodiversity loss. There is a growing need for guidance on how to measure biodiversity to support companies in this need. In late 2022, the Align project issued recommendations to provide a framework for corporate biodiversity measurement and valuation.

This Thursday October 19th from 11:00 to 11:50 BST (12:00 to 12:50 CET), the Align project will launch new guidance notes to support the implementation of the Align recommendations at the operational site level and across supply chains, including a deep dive into ecosystem condition measurement. These notes focus on corporate biodiversity measurement and valuation through practical examples drawn from 'dummy cases’ to illustrate measurement approaches. The examples aim to help organizations effectively implement the Align recommendations by illustrating the pathway from identification of impacts and dependencies all the way through to the assessment of possible methodologies available to companies to measure their impacts and dependencies on biodiversity.
