On 10 May 2023, the International lynx conference "Quo Vadis Lynx?" took place at the Wöltingerode Monastery in the Harz Mountains. In addition to a detailed review of the successful reintroduction of lynx in the Harz mountains more than 20 years ago, questions were discussed about what urgently needs to be done in the future to protect and preserve the continent's largest cat species. In addition, the conference highlighted opportunities and challenges in the conservation of the large predator in Europe. An international workshop the following two days, discussed how to better reinforce the Carpathian lynx population.
