Dear Reader of the GPP News Alert,

The first of four webinars of 2022 is happening on 30 March, as part of the European Commission’s Helpdesk service on GPP. The webinar will focus on the Most Economically Advantageous Tender (“MEAT”). The EU Public Contracts Directive (2014/24/EU) establishes that tenders must be awarded based on the most economically advantageous tender. It can be identified on the basis of price or cost only, using a cost-effectiveness approach, such as life-cycle costing, or on the basis of price together with other elements, which can include qualitative, environmental and socially responsible factors (best price-quality ratio), linked to the subject matter of the contract.

To learn about the how to design “MEAT-friendly” tenders, plus hear first-hand good practice, join the next EU GPP Helpdesk Webinar on Wednesday 30 March (10:30 to 11:45, Brussels time). Registration is now open.

Speakers:

  • Welcome and Introduction from the EU GPP Helpdesk, Enrico Degiorgis, DG Environment, European Commission
