While the focus of large carnivore management in Europe is on bear, wolf, lynx and wolverine, another species is starting to become relevant for monitoring. The golden jackal is colonising new habitats where it did not exist before. This creates a new situation in many areas, and recording and monitoring presents a new challenge. This publication (German only) lays out standards for monitoring in central Europe based on existing standards for other species.
