The significant efforts of the Balkan Lynx Recovery Programme to halt the loss of the species are described in the programme’s latest newsletter. The most recent population estimates suggest catastrophic decline for the already threatened species. Poaching remains a significant issue but the newsletter also highlights the threats of forest loss as well as projects to carry out reforestation in some of the range. Finally, new communication initiatives such as a documentary and museum exhibition are described.
