SINCE THE START OF WAR ON IRAN AND CLOSURE OF STRAIT OF HORMUZ (SINCE 28.02.2026), INTERNATIONAL ENERGY PRICES WENT TO A NEW LEVEL, HIGHER THAN IN ENERGY CRISIS OF 2022/2023. Prices for Euro 95, diesel, LPG and heating oil jumped following the widened conflict in the Near East. Slovenia increased excises on Eurosuper 95, diesel and heating oil from 16.12.2025. Portugal increased excises on Eurosuper 95 and Diesel from 01/01/2026. Luxembourg increased excises on Eurosuper 95, Diesel, LPG and Heating oil from 01.01.2026. Sweden lowered excises on Eurosuper 95, Diesel, Heating oil and Residual fuel from 01.01.2026. France decreased excises on Eurosuper 95 and Diesel from 01.01.2026. Lithuania increased other indirect taxes on Eurosuper 95 from 01.01.2026. Bulgaria introduced euro since 01.01.2026. Germany increased excises on Eurosuper 95, Diesel, LPG and Heating oil since 01.01.2026. Hungary increased excises on LPG and Residual fuel oil (LS). Latvia increased excises on Eurosuper 95, diesel and LPG, while lowering excise on Heating oil from 01.01.2026. Netherlands increased excises on Eurosuper 95, diesel and LPG from 01.01.2026. Poland increased excises on Eurosuper 95, diesel and heating oil from 01.01.2026. Italy equalized the excises on Eurosuper 95 and diesel (effectively lowering excises on Eurosuper 95 and increasing excises on diesel) from 01.01.2026. Finland increased VAT rate. Portugal increased Other indirect taxes from 01.01.2026. Romania increased excises on all the fuels from 01.01.2026. Slovakia does not report Fuel oil from 01.01.2026.
