  • A thorough examination has been conducted of all aspects of the EPBD that could be relevant to SmarterEPC: renovation passports, digital building logbooks, technical building systems, data exchange, databases for the energy performance of buildings, HVAC system inspections and reports, and so on.
  • A detailed and documented analysis of existing EPC tools available in the EU has been carried out, and is made easily available via the SmarterEPC atlas.
  • A template has been proposed for a joint EPC and SRI certificate that brings together the core aspects of both instruments into a single, user-friendly and EPBD-aligned document. Alongside this, the SmarterEPC hub is under development, as a digital smart data collection interface that aims to simplify the input of data required for EPC and SRI evaluations.
  • Last but not least, a combined on-site audit procedure, encompassing EPCs, SRI, renovation passports, and inspections of HVAC systems, and a digital hub with a smart data collection interface, have been developed and are currently being tested by EPC assessors from ten EU countries.
