The European Commission set up the Equality platform for the energy sector with an overall aim of strengthening the commitment to equality in all its dimensions, notably by promoting more diverse and inclusive workplaces. The Platform functions as a forum to discuss equality-related issues and share concrete actions contributing to equality in the energy sector.

The Platform brings together committed companies, institutions, organisations, and groups eager to make workplaces in the energy sector equally accessible and friendly to all interested workers. The Platform is made of legal entities, but at the heart of it are individuals who often take it on themselves to promote equality and diversity in their spare time, on top of their regular commitments. We are proud to include established and emerging industry leaders, think tanks, and associations driven by the ambition to promote equality and equity, public institutions, and former and present members of governments. Importantly, our members are not only committed to making the energy sector diverse and inclusive, but they are often at the forefront of the industry's green transformation, leading and tapping into sustainable approaches to generating and distributing energy.
