From Local to Global – Strengthening Cooperation for a Just Energy Transition

In collaboration with Wuppertal Institute, Climate Strategies will host an interactive online workshop to further explore the role of cooperation in advancing the just transformation of coal regions. The workshop will delve into the challenges and opportunities of a just transition worldwide.

Decision-makers and experts from South Africa, Indonesia, India, and Colombia will share their experiences of working together to advance the just transformation of coal regions, alongside a representative of one of the G7 Nations which are helping to fund South Africa’s Just Energy Transition Partnership. In addition, the event will showcase the newly developed "Just Transition Toolbox for Coal Regions" as a practical tool to design and manage a well-planned regional transition away from coal.
