Stakeholder engagement in Bosnia and Herzegovina
date: 08/08/2021
The World Bank and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina (MOFTER) co-hosted 5 virtual stakeholder engagement workshops in July 2021. The workshops were organised as part of the World Bank’s technical assistance in partnership with MOFTER on designing a road map for Bosnia and Herzegovina’s coal transition. Their implementation supports the realisation of the Initiative for coal regions in transition in the Western Balkans and Ukraine.
The purpose of the workshops was to gain a better understanding of the knowledge of various stakeholders on just transition and to understand key concerns and constraints facing stakeholders in coal communities. Over 100 persons participated in the meetings. A second series of workshops will be completed in September 2021, when the World Bank commences the in-depth implementation of the road map planning in the pilot coal mining areas of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia.
