Cluj-Napoca – resource efficiency in public buildings
The municipality of Cluj-Napoca (Romania) has managed to reduce their energy consumption by 15% over the course of just a few months by participating in the EU Horizon 2020 project REFLOW. In close cooperation with local businesses such as tech start-ups, a Retrofit kit was created to increase the resource efficiency of the buildings in the municipal portfolio. This kit combines smart power sockets, electric panels, motion sensors, and other technical tools that are adaptable to the building they are installed in.
The Retrofit kit was a useful solution for the municipality, since renovations to the buildings would be a far more costly alternative (at least € 500 000), while the Retrofit kit cut costs by some € 40 000.
You may want to consider a Retrofit kit for your offices as well! Read more about this undertaking, the REFLOW project, and the Covenant of Mayors.
