Energy Efficiency

date:  17/09/2021

Dear Madam/ Sir,

The start of our competition is approaching. On October 1, the Directorate-General for Energy of the European Commission will launch the competition “Film4Energy Challenge”, inviting schools across the European Union (EU) to create short videos about the importance of energy efficiency and the benefits of saving energy for their school, commune or city.

What is this competition about?

Students aged 12 to 15 from all EU countries are invited to create a video about how they can save energy in their daily lives, teaching their relatives, friends, neighbours and the whole world about the benefits of energy efficiency and encouraging the use of energy-efficient alternatives for heating, cooling, transport, and other daily activities.

The objective is for the videos to have a positive, educational impact on students, as well as their teachers, families and local communities.

Spread the word

Is your organisation active in the educational, youth and/or energy sector?

The launch of the competition is approaching. Help us spread the word to local schools across Europe and get them to participate in the ”Film4Energy Challenge”.  The winning schools will see their video disseminated across Europe on the European Commission’s official channels, and the best entry will be awarded an energy day organised at the winning school!

The competition will run from October 1, 2021 to February 15, 2022.

Resources

You will find more information about the competition rules and how to apply on the competition web page.

We would also be very grateful for the promotion of the competition on your websites and social media channels. In that regard, please find a set of ready-to-use visuals, posts and two video teasers available in all EU languages on our dedicated file library (CIRCABC).

The two teasers can be also dowloaded via the Audiovisual Service portal of the European Commission:

Should you wish to receive the materials directly in your local language, please let us know and we will gladly send them over via email to ENER-FILM4ENERGY@EC.EUROPA.EU. Please use without moderation and do not forget the #Film4Energy hashtag!

Should you wish to publish a news article on your website, newsletter or any other communication material, we remain available to provide you with tailored texts and visuals.

Thank you in advance for your help in promoting the ‘Film4Energy Challenge’. Having your organisation onboard will make a real difference in reaching out to the local schools across Europe and helping us raise awareness about energy efficiency.

Best regards,

The Film4Energy Challenge Secretariat
